U.S. and China — Agree on terms of plans for curbing emissions of carbon dioxide.

U.S., China Announce Plans for Emissions Cuts.  The U.S. and China unveiled long-term plans to curb emissions of carbon dioxide and other gases linked to climate change, a surprise move aimed at kickstarting a new round of international talks and blunting domestic opposition to cuts in both countries.

When you think about this for a while, you realize there is something taking place that is extremely important, important as a part of the history of events which culminate in something historically significant. Or, said another way, introduces a different spirit — “a willed meaning for good.”

That’s the way I like to look at it.
